Tournament Rules and Regulations – U11

All MRMH tournaments are sanctioned by the OMHA and are governed by OMHA Tournament Rules and Regulations.

 

General Rules

·         All teams are guaranteed 4 games

·         All teams must be ready 15 minutes prior to scheduled game time.

·         All teams receive a 3 minute warm up period.

·         Round robin games will be 10-10-15 minute stop time periods.

·         If a team is leading by 5 or more goals during the 3rd period, time will remain running (not applicable in championship games).

·         If the goal differential changes to fewer than 5 goals, stop time will resume. Penalties will remain 2 minutes in length during running time.

·         All referee decisions are final.

·         Only coaches can present disputes to tournament officials.

 

Preliminary Round Points

·         A team's standing in the round robin will be determined by the total points accumulated. No overtime will be played in the preliminary round. There will be (2) points awarded for each game as follows:

·         Two (2) points will be awarded to the winner of a game.

·         One (1) point will be awarded to each team of a tie game.

·         Zero (0) points will be awarded for a loss.

·         After the Preliminary round games, teams will be seeded 1-4 by points

·         1st and 2nd place teams will play in the Championship game for gold and silver.

·         3rd and 4th place teams will play for bronze.

·         Tie Breaker

·         In the event teams are tied in points at the end of the preliminary round, the following procedure will apply;

o   If head to head competition occurred, highest points earned in head to head competition gets higher seeding.

o   If still tied, the team with the least number of goals against will be seeded higher.

o   If still tied, the team with the most goals will be seeded higher.

o   If teams still tied the team with the least penalty minutes will be seeded higher

o   If teams still tied, seeding will be determined by coin toss

 

Championship Game

·         Championship games will feature 10-10-15 stop time periods.

·         Over-time will be 5 minutes of 4 on 4.

·         If still tied, a shoot-out will occur, three shooters from each team; home team shoots first. If still tied after three shooters, shootout continues with 1 shooter per team at a time until only 1 team scores (sudden victory). All players on each team must shoot before players can repeat if necessary.

·         Championship games will be allowed one 30 second time-out, per team.
