Thank you for visiting the Muskoka Rock U11 Tier 2/3 tournament page. This year's tournament will be held on Nov 29 through Dec 1. Games will begin Friday evening and continue through Sunday. Game will be played at both Port Carling Arena as well as Bala Arena. We are aiming for 10-12 teams with a guarantee of 4 games. More details like recommended hotels are to come. Payment can be made via e-transfer after registration.

Teams need to be prepared to play as early as 12pm (noon) on the Friday (Nov 29).

Tournament Rules:

1. Tournament rules and game play are in accordance with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association. Teams are expected to comply with the rules of the tournament and the OMHA. This is a sanctioned tournament.

2. All teams are guaranteed 4 games consisting of 10-10-15 stop time periods and a 2-minute warm-up from the time the gates are closed. Ice times are 70 minutes. 

3. Round robin games will not have overtime and no timeouts. A win is 2pts, a tie 1pt, and a loss 0pts.

4. Mercy rule: The third period will be run-time if a team is leading by 5 or more goals. The game will revert to stop-time if the goal differential lessens to 4 or less. This will be applied to all games, including playoffs. 

5. Teams will be seeded for the playoff round based on the standings after all round robin games are completed.

6. If a team misses a game (for any reason), the game will be deemed a forfeit and a score of 1-0 will be posted.

7. Standings tie breakers (if teams have the same number of points) are in the following order:
- head-to-head
- points percentage
- goal differential
- most goals for
- fewest penalties

8. One timeout per team per game in the playoff rounds.

9. Playoff games must end with a win. Playoff tie break rules are as follows:
3 minute, 3v3 OT
- 2 minute, 2v2 OT 
Sudden death shootout (players cannot shoot twice until all players have shot once; both team shoot at the same time)
- a penalty during OT results in the non-penalized team adding a player to the ice
- a penalized player at the beginning of OT remains in the box until their penalty is complete
- a penalized player at the beginning of the shootout is not eligible to shoot in the shootout
